Answering your questions
Am I too old?
No - everyone can benefit from doing
Pilates no matter what your age.
Is it only for women?
No – it is good for men as well.
Does it matter if I have never done this before?
Most
of my clients have never done Pilates before.
Am I too big or fat for this?
Of course not – in fact Pilates
will support a weight loss programme. It will give you longer,
leaner looking legs, firm up your stomach and improve your
posture.
I have never done exercise before
You are not alone –
Pilates is an excellent introduction to gentle exercise.
I do
not look good in a leotard?
It is not necessary to wear a
leotard. Loose fitting clothes are the norm.
Will the classes
be too big?
No, because of the nature of the exercises and the
need for individual attention the classes cannot be too big.
What if I am only a beginner?
The good thing about Pilates is that you work at your own
pace. You can choose the level you
want to work at even if you are a beginner and there are
advanced students in the class.
Can I do Pilates if I suffer
from Osteoporosis, or Arthritis?
The answer is yes - providing
your doctor says it is OK for you to do gentle exercise, there
are specific Pilates movements you can do to improve flexibility
and reduce joint and muscle pain. |
